Three Tools Competing for Your Budget

Eva Jando July 26, 2026

A quick frame before we dig in: Jeto runs on Adobe Marketo Engage and is designed to help distributed teams launch more campaigns, faster, without losing governance or adding headcount. Everything below assumes Marketo is your system of record.
The question we’re answering is which supporting tools genuinely add to that, and which ones duplicate or sidestep it.

1. Email & Landing Page Builders (Knak, Stensul)

Tools like Knak and Stensul do one thing well: they make it easier to design beautiful, on-brand emails and landing pages without touching HTML. For teams drowning in template requests, that’s real relief.

But here’s what they don’t do:

  • They manage assets, not campaigns. After every approval, your MOps team still manually builds the Marketo program, sets up flows, configures audiences, and schedules sends. The builder hands off at the asset level. Everything after it is still on marketing ops.
  • They don’t work with your existing templates. Both Knak and Stensul require you to rebuild your email and landing page templates inside their platform. If you’ve spent years perfecting your Marketo template library, that work doesn’t carry over.
  • They leave the hard part untouched. Asset creation is one step in campaign execution. Approval, scheduling, audience targeting, naming conventions, program cloning: none of it is handled. That’s not a gap in their product. It’s simply not what they’re built for.

Stensul has invested heavily in a stronger LP builder, Adobe Journey Optimizer integration, and AI content generation. It’s a serious platform for governed asset creation. But governed asset creation is not campaign execution.

Knak has grown meaningfully too, adding visual dynamic content, a Figma-to-Marketo plugin, full Marketo token support, and limited program deployment via Knak Launch. But Knak Launch is still capped at single-email programs and doesn’t maintain template integrity or naming conventions.

The core limitation: both platforms hand off to Marketo at the asset level. Everything that comes after (program creation, scheduling, flows, audiences) is outside their scope and falls back on marketing ops.

2. Custom-Built Integration Platforms

Some marketing teams use an iPaaS or custom integration platform to connect their project management, workflow, or operations systems to Marketo.

In theory, this automates campaign intake and cross-system handoffs. In practice, it creates more work than it saves.

  • Software engineering is required. Always. iPaaS tools are developer platforms. Every workflow, every connection to Marketo, every change request runs through engineering.
  • Budget and timeline risk. Custom builds sometimes take months, are prone to scope creep, and can break when either Marketo or the connected system pushes updates.
  • MOps can’t manage it themselves. A new field, a new routing rule, a new approver. Every change goes back to the dev queue. There’s no admin interface built for marketers.

Integration platforms have real value for moving data between systems, and many Jeto customers run one alongside Jeto.

There’s natural overlap in what each can do, but in practice they’re stronger together: the integration platform handles enterprise workflow and cross-system orchestration, Jeto handles Marketo campaign execution. The problem starts when teams stretch the integration layer into a campaign execution platform. That’s where costs balloon, timelines slip, and MOps loses control. It becomes an expensive, high-risk bet when purpose-built alternatives exist.

3. Distributed Marketing Platforms (Jeto)

Jeto is built on Adobe Marketo Engage and designed for distributed marketing at scale. It extends the Adobe content supply chain into the last and hardest mile: campaign execution.

Where other tools handle one slice of the work, Jeto runs the whole thing from intake to launch, without requiring Marketo expertise from the marketers requesting campaigns.

Marketing operations teams set up the rules once, in the form of Launchers (prebuilt campaign templates). Distributed marketers across regions, product lines, or departments self-serve from there. Every campaign that goes out is governed, consistent, and compliant with your Marketo best practices. Automatically.

What Jeto Does That Others Don’t

It works with your existing Marketo setup.

This is the one that surprises people. Jeto doesn’t require you to rebuild your templates. It works with your existing Marketo emails, landing pages, tokens, dynamic content, and snippets; preserving template integrity and your existing program structure. Knak and Stensul require full template migrations before they’re useful. Jeto connects to what you’ve already built.

It automates the whole campaign, not just the asset.

When a marketer submits a campaign through Jeto, here’s what happens automatically:

  • A Marketo program is created and cloned from the correct template
  • Email and landing page content is updated with the submitted data
  • Naming conventions are applied and enforced
  • Assets are organized into the correct folders
  • Smart campaigns are scheduled and activated based on the campaign’s send dates

Marketing ops doesn’t lift a finger. The marketer doesn’t need a Marketo login. The brand stays consistent. That’s zero-touch campaign execution.

It governs without creating friction.

The lack of standardization across distributed teams is one of the biggest hidden costs in marketing operations. When different regions, product lines, or agencies each run campaigns their own way, quality suffers, errors multiply, and brand consistency erodes.

Jeto enforces governance at the point of intake through structured forms, data validation, required approvals, and locked modules. That way standards are maintained without creating bottlenecks. Marketers move faster, and quality doesn’t drop.

It scales without growing your team.

HashiCorp achieved a 100% increase in Adobe Marketo campaign output using Jeto. TD SYNNEX Public Sector cut campaign execution time in half. Mendix, a Siemens business, tripled their campaign execution volume. None of them grew their MOps headcount to do it.

That’s the point: Jeto reduces manual labour, automates program build and workflows, and creates real capacity. Your team can launch more campaigns faster without adding staff.

The Right Question to Ask

When evaluating tools, the question isn’t “which builder makes the nicest emails?” It’s: “where in our campaign process does time, money, and quality get lost, and what actually closes that gap?”

If the answer is asset design, Knak or Stensul may be the right fit. If the answer is the entire campaign execution workflow (intake, governance, automation, and scale), you need Jeto.

Jeto is a distributed marketing platform built on Adobe Marketo Engage. It extends the Adobe content supply chain into campaign execution, helping global teams launch faster, stay governed, and scale without added headcount.
